This workshop will train participants from Somalia chemical enterprises, unregulated markets, and academic institutions to adopt strategies to identify and neutralize abandoned weaponizable chemical stockpiles in a safe and secure manner. The workshop will present 13 topics focusing on neutralization and destruction methods identified for various classes of dual-use chemicals, including organophosphate nerve agent precursors, toxic industrial chemicals, and toxic gas generating substances at risk of diversion by regional non-state actors.
